November 2025 Upcoming Events, Celebrations, Happenings and Opportunities (ECHO)

Save the Dates for Upcoming CCTM Events: 

  • American Mathematics Competitions (AMC), a program of the Mathematical Association of America, will be hosting its competition for students in grade 8 or below in January 2026.  All students in grade 8 or below are eligible; there are no prerequisites.  This school year, the AMC 8 exam (a 40-minute, multiple choice exam) may be given onsite anytime in the 7-day period, January 22-28, 2026. (Online testing is not an option.)  Past AMC 8 problems and solutions are available at no cost from the Art of Problem Solving website.  Top Colorado students will be honored at the 31st annual reception and awards program hosted by Colorado Math Awards in Denver next spring.  Contact [email protected] if you have questions or would like more information.

  • The USA Mathematical Talent Search (USAMTS) is a free, proof-based math contest for US middle and high school students.  Students receive written feedback on their work and can earn prizes based on their performance.  Round 2 problems for the 2025-2026 school year have been released.

  • Colorado Math Pathways update: Fall meetings on November 17 and December 15.  All meetings 6 - 7:30 pm.  They will be finalizing descriptions and potential applications of the math students will learn in each of the three pathways. Zoom link

  • Colorado high school standards review: timeline and status about the math standards revision is available on the Math Standards Review Committee webpage.

  • NCTM Professional Development webinar: December MTLT Teacher Talk. Open to members and non-members.
