February 2026 Board Message

Get Involved in Colorado's Year of Math!

February can feel like the long middle of the school year—short days, full calendars, and just enough winter left to test our patience. But it's also a powerful moment to pause and decide what we want the months ahead to become. As we celebrate 2026 as a year of mathematics, CCTM invites you to be part of shaping math education across Colorado. Whether you're looking to expand your leadership, share your expertise, or deepen your professional learning, there are meaningful ways to engage with our vibrant community:

  • Run for the CCTM Board – We're inviting members to consider leadership through elections for Vice President, Secretary, and Regional Representatives. CCTM is strongest when it reflects voices from across Colorado.

  • Present at Summer Conference – Our Call for Speaker Proposals is now open for the June CCTM Conference. If you've been wondering whether you have something to share, consider this your sign—you do.

  • Check out webinar recording: Last month we had a fantastic webinar from our Partner OpenUp, Maximizing Student Discourse & Learning Through Math Language Routines.

  • Additional Opportunities: Check out the ECHO in this month’s newsletters for additional opportunities across the state.

Be on the look out over the next few months for emails about:

  • Attending the CCTM Summer Conference – Join us on June 11-12 for this cornerstone event where connections are made and teaching practices are transformed.

  • Attend NCTM in Denver – This October, Denver will host NCTM's Annual Meeting, a rare opportunity to experience premier professional development in our home state.

  • Volunteer at NCTM – Represent CCTM by volunteering to support the conference when it comes to Denver.

Even in the heart of winter, this is a season of possibility. Your involvement—whether presenting, leading, volunteering, or learning—strengthens our collective impact on students across Colorado. Let's make 2026 a year to remember for mathematics education!
