Colorado has adopted innovative new high school math standards, including advanced mathematics pathways aligned with student interests and goals and increased attention to statistics, modeling and technology. The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) is inviting educators to help create supplemental materials that will support teachers as they bring these new standards into their classrooms. CDE has identified five areas of support needed to implement the revised standards:
-
Making sense of individual standards (glossary, example tasks, boundary statements, mathematical and statistical process integration, etc.)
-
Making sense across standards (progressions, coherence connections, etc.)
-
Teaching with the standards (strategies, inquiry questions, pacing, technology, etc.)
-
Building pathways (materials alignment, alignment with CTE, concurrent enrollment, AP, etc.)
-
Supporting a pathways ecosystem (guidance for counselors, administrators, parents, etc.)
To volunteer, please complete this form regarding your interests and expertise.

CDE partnered with TNTP to provide a no-cost professional development course covering high quality, evidence-informed math instructional practices. Colorado educators, school administrators, out-of-school time professionals and other supporting professionals can register here to participate in the asynchronous course, Powerful Practice: Evidence-Informed Math Teaching.
